Religious Education - KS3

Choose a subject

Rooted in our Catholic faith and inspired by the spirit of St. John Bosco, our Religious Education department is dedicated to nurturing students spiritually, academically, and morally.

We strive to guide students into a deeper relationship with Christ, offering a Christ-centred learning environment where faith is not just taught but lived. We challenge our students to develop a deep love of learning and a strong moral foundation, integrating faith and learning into every aspect of their lives. By promoting service, love, and compassion, we aim to develop young people who live out Gospel values, contribute positively to their communities, and grow in wisdom and integrity, prepared to lead lives of purpose and conviction. In the spirit of St. John Bosco, we commit ourselves to developing children who are not only wise but wise in Christ, inspired to love, to learn, and to serve. As a Catholic Christian school our department works hand in hand with Chaplaincy to support and uphold the extensive religious life of the school.

The Key Stage 3 Religious Education curriculum offers students a rich and diverse learning experience. Guided by the Religious Education Curriculum Directory, the programme includes studies in Christian theology, Church history, and contemporary ethical issues. It also introduces students to the beliefs and practices of major world religions such as Judaism, Islam, and the Dharmic faiths.

Through this broad curriculum, students develop essential analytical and reflective skills. They learn to interpret religious teachings, express their understanding of key beliefs, and assess how faith influences the lives of believers. These skills not only deepen their knowledge of religion but also enhance their ability to engage thoughtfully with cultural and moral questions in today’s world.
