A Record Breaking Year of Results at Salesian
Students and their families at Salesian were celebrating following the publication of this year’s record breaking A’ level and vocational results this week. Students were deservedly well rewarded with an excellent set of results continuing Salesian’s sustained track record of high achievement over many years.
42% of all grades were A* or A with an amazing 45 students achieving straight A*-A results, some of which are listed below. 75% of all grades were A*-B with 91% being A*-C.
Almost all students from the College at Salesian secured their first choice university place with 60% of applicants gaining places at Russell Group universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick, UCL and Durham.
Deputy Headteacher and Head of College, Lizzie Bolton said, “This group of students were a pleasure to work with. They were focussed and hard working but more importantly happy and loving. I am delighted that they all, almost without exception, are going on to do what they want to do as a result of their excellent grades. It was a pleasure being their Head of College”
Headteacher, Paul Gower said, “The results this year continue the excellent track record of outcomes for students at Salesian College. A staff with huge expertise and skill, and a student group so determined and driven, is a potent combination. I would like to say thank you to both groups for their contribution to Salesian College last two years and to our wonderful parents, carers and guardians, some of which we say goodbye to after seven exhilarating years.”
Salesian School and College are part of the Xavier Catholic Education Trust. The school identifies the support of and collaboration within the trust as a significant factor in its success. The trust’s CEO, James Kibble said, The trust’s CEO, James Kibble said, “We are, one again truly proud of, and delighted for, all the students across our four Xavier secondary schools following their excellent results this week. These results are testament to the Catholic ethos, expert teaching and dedicated pastoral care that we are blessed with in our schools, not to mention all the hard work put in by students, staff and parents. We offer our sincere thanks and congratulations to all those involved and look forward to the students going on to achieve even greater things in the future.”
