Modern Foreign Languages - KS4

We aspire to expose our pupils to a broad and ambitious Modern Languages curriculum, which is rich in skills and knowledge, develops self-efficacy, kindles curiosity and promotes diversity and tolerance of other cultures.

Throughout KS4, students of French and Spanish gain in confidence as they apply their languages skills to practical situations in the form of role play, picture description and general conversation. Students continue to explore their phonological awareness and practice skills such as read aloud and dictation. There are 6 broad thematic contexts studied within the course, my personal world; lifestyle and wellbeing; my neighbourhood; media and technology.  studying and my future, travel and tourism. We look to build on their vocabulary, grammar and phonics progression  and ensure they have a sound understanding of cultural and societal diversity beyond the classroom.
