Salesian School is part of the wider Salesian community in the UK and around the world. We follow the system of St John Bosco. He stressed good educational standards and sound moral and religious education. He insisted too on a friendly atmosphere in his schools where the idea of community could be fostered and where developing relationships with young people was central to success.
Salesian School’s chaplain, Fr Marco Villani, visits both sites, working with the students and staff, leading services and ensuring that the rich sacramental life of the school is continued and developed. All students have the opportunity to attend weekly voluntary and termly compulsory masses, experience the Sacrament of Reconciliation twice per year and pray collectively in small groups in either of our chapels, formally using the Rosary and in each assembly and tutor time.
At our Guildford Road site, the St Francis of Sales Chapel is at the heart of the school, and is used for weekly services and other activities.
We are part of the Salesian community here in Chertsey, with three members of the community working as staff at the school. The Salesian Chertsey community website has some details about their activities, like retreats that happen in the community house.
