The School Day

IMG_3534_180.jpgStudents are welcome in school from 8.00am onwards each day for lessons, library work and extra-curricular activities. Breakfast is available every day in the school canteen from 8.00 until 8.30am.

The school timetable is organised into 25 one-hour lessons each week. There are five lessons a day, over an alternating two-week schedule (A week and B week). The day also incorporates registration and assembly time, and movement time to allow staff to travel between the two school sites. Students have two assemblies each week in their year-groups: one led by their Head of Year, the other by a member of the school's leadership team.

Registration / Assembly 8.50 – 9.10
Period 1 9.10 – 10.10
Break 10.10 – 10.25
Period 2 10.25 – 11.25
Travel 11.25 – 11.35
Period 3 11.35 – 12.35
Lunch break 12.35 – 13.20
Period 4 13.20 – 14.20
Travel 14.20 – 14.30
Period 5 14.30 – 15.30

One evening each week is reserved for each year-group's after-school homework club. In addition, the Learning Resource Centre is staffed until 4.30pm every day (except Friday when we close at 4pm) and students may work in there until that time.
