A group of Year 8s travelled to London on the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady to visit the temporary exhibition on the Life of Mother Teresa. There we were warmly welcomed and directed to a crypt where there was a range of exhibits relating to Mother Teresa and her life. We saw hand written letters of hers, a cardigan, a towel, and one of her famous blue and white saris that had been sent over by the Vatican. A documentary outlined her life and highlighted key messages that she had put across during her life.
After our prayer before the Blessed Sacrament in the small chapel, we were each allowed to take a message from a box entitled 'Mother Teresa's message for you'. Our visit ended with a view of a room that had been reconstructed to look like Mother Teresa's room in Kolkata. Although not an exact replica, it showed the austerity of her lifestyle, and her complete dependence on God.
