8G visited the IMAX in London on 16th June to watch the documentary Jerusalem in 3D.
The documentary gave the students a good insight into the rich diversity that exists in this fascinating city. It showed why Jerusalem is held holy by Christians, Jews, and Muslims alike. The documentary showed the city through the eyes of three teenagers, each being from one of the three major world faiths.
Year 8 had studied the history of The People of God in January and are now working on a project on Judaism; the city of Jerusalem is central to both topics. The documentary gave the students a virtual encounter with everyday life in Jerusalem and was the next best thing to actually visiting the city.
We certainly find that trips such as these bring to life topics that our students are required to study.
