Year 7 Spiritual Retreats

IMG_0134.JPG.jpegThe schedule of retreats for all Year 7 pupils has concluded this week. Each pupil in school is given the opportunity to reflect on God, self and neighbour. Year 7 pupils received a retreat experience with fellow tutees in a safe, spiritual environment. Tutors accompanied their tutees to the chapel where they were welcomed by the School Chaplain, Fr. M Villani SDB. The theme of the retreat was "An Unexpected Journey" based on the title of the first of The Hobbit trilogy of films; the author of The Hobbit, JRR Tolkien, was a devout and committed Catholic. In addition to prayer, pupils experienced a range of the following activities: icebreakers, puzzle challenges, video clips, writing self-reflections and Bible-based dramatic Freeze frames ("Mannequin challenge"). The retreat culminated in the celebration of the Eucharist.
