On Thursday the 27th June the whole of Year 7 set off to Marwell Zoo. The main focus point of the day was to consider the adaptations of the different animals in order for them to survive in their natural habitats. Pupils toured the zoo in groups completing a booklet of questions and were incredibly knowledgeable by the end of the day!
Alongside the booklets pupils also completed a one-hour workshop during which they could view some animals up close. As part of the workshop pupils considered the adaptations of a giant stick insect and also studied variation and how this contributes to survival of the snow leopard. The day was of course finished off at the gift shop before heading back to school.
