Science Museum Show

Science_Show_July_2014.jpgOn a hot day in July all of year 8 were treated to a visit from the Science Museum Outreach team to watch some fantastic shows. The shows were linked to the KS3 curriculum and consolidated much of what they had learnt in science this year. Students were engrossed in talks entitled 'It Takes Guts', 'Supercool', and 'Danger, High Voltage!'. It was a fantastic day, something which the students greatly enjoyed.

Henry Hawkins, a year 8 student, commented on the visit saying; "The recent Science Museum visit was both a great learning and enjoyable experience which definitely got the whole year involved and taking a possible new interest in science. Whereas in a regular science lesson we may have a more safe practical planned, we were certaintly given the experience of a lifetime when we experimented with electrons and liquid nitrogen. Also despite being a hot day, the enthusiastic presenters managed to keep the crowd involved and interested. It was definitely an event I don't think anyone will forget."
