'European Languages Day' - celebrated all over Europe on 26th of September - was marked in style at Salesian school on Friday 23rd September Under bright sunny skies we held a Great 'European Bake-off' competition. Students came up with their very own European cake design, baked it at home and then brought them in. All the cakes were judged and house point prizes awarded to cakes judged as 1st, 2nd and 3rd and an extra 3 prizes awarded to the cakes that had the 'best professional look', 'best cupcake design' and 'best comic effect'. Competition was fierce and staff judges found it very difficult to choose. All the cakes were fabulous, as you can see from some of the pictures below.
The Languages department are all very proud of the students that made such a fantastic effort. Students and staff were in awe of their creativity. Thanks to all the students who later bought slices of cake at lunchtime as we have raised £230 for our International school charity- The Ashalayam. The Bake off will make a return in 2017, and you won't have to switch channels to find it!
