Pre-season Rugby Camp

preseasonrugby180.jpgWith the forthcoming Rugby season fast approaching it was great to see so many Year 7, 8 and 9 students attend Mr Browne’s summer Rugby Camp. The boys were put through their paces with expert coaching from semi-pro and pro rugby players. Despite the weather it was a fantastic week which culminated in full length game at Highfield Road. It was amazing to see the progress of the boys from the beginning to the end of the week. Some of the new Year 7s hadn’t played before and by the end of the week they participating in a proper match. The boys trained hard and had a great time, they were reward with their very own rugby ball and Salesian Rugby training shirt.

This year each year group will play in League, Cup and friendly competitions. Each side is expected to fulfil 15-20 fixtures so it is going to be a busy and exciting season. If students did not make the Rugby camp, it is not too late to get involved, see Mr Browne (Head of Boys PE) or Mr Goulborn (Head of Y10) at school.

The next Rugby camp takes place on the Thursday and Friday of Half Term. Details will be available soon.
