Instrumental Success at Woking Festival

Following on from the choirs' victories at Tuesday's Woking Music Festival, our jazz band, African drummers and Sinfonia had similar success on Thursday in the instrumental categories. Our drummers, led by Miss Jenkins, were praised for their rhythmic playing, enthusiasm and dynamics, and gained a 'commended'. Our Salesian Sinfonia performed Schubert's Ave Maria beautifully and were also awarded a 'commended'. In what was a debut for our newly formed jazz band (led by Mr Hayter), the night was a particular success – the judge decided to give them a rare distinction and awarded them the Kingdon Cup for the best performance across four classes! Well done to all students involved.
