Green-fingered winners!

DSC_0413_380.jpgYear 7 students have become prize-winning gardeners at this summer's Chertsey Show!

Mrs Pritchard's science classes 7A and 7G grew their own plants from seeds last term, designed an environmentally and wildlife friendly garden and decorated plants pots using science themes. They worked really hard to produce 52 plants, 30 pots and 32 gardens. During the summer all of these were then entered into The Chertsey Show where they competed against other schools, youth clubs, scout and guides groups in the area. The judges were very impressed with both the quality and quantity of entries received from Salesian School. They did amazingly well; not only did they win the Garden Design and Plant Category and came second in the Decorated Pots, but they won the cup for the overall best group exhibit with their Wildlife Garden designs.

We look forward to defending our title next year!
