At 12.45pm, on Wednesday May 24th, the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, a group of pupils and staff moved the usual weekly lunchtime recitation of the Rosary from the Chapel to the statue of Our Lady situated opposite Reception. This was in honour of the Principal Patroness of the Salesian family, Mary Help of Christians.
As is customary on a Wednesday, we prayed five decades of the Rosary focussing on the Glorious Mysteries of the Catholic Faith: The Resurrection of Jesus, The Ascension of Jesus, The Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Disciples, the Assumption of Our Lady into heaven, the Coronation of Our Lady Queen of heaven.
Pupils and staff were encouraged to offer the Rosary for all those most in need of prayer. There were several intentions, including prayers for the protection of Christians persecuted for their faith and for the work of Catholic charity Aid To The Church In Need (ACN) which mobilises Christians to prayer for their suffering brothers and sisters in Christ.
