Bletchley Park Visit

The Computing department recently took twenty-six students to experience Bletchley Park, the home of the codebreakers and the birth of the world's first programmable computer.

We were taken on a fascinating guided tour of the site including the Mansion and a number of the actual huts that were used during the war.

The students then experienced a lesson called 'Interception to Intelligence' where they listened to some Morse code and then were given some coded information which they then had to convert into intelligent information.

The whole day was very informative and gave the students an understanding of the vital role Bletchley Park played in shortening the war and saving thousands of lives.
