A fantastic evening to celebrate the hard work of our Year 11s, at Silvermere. Everyone looked amazing and had a wonderful time
Our most notable fundraising event of the year - on behalf of the Don Bosco Ashalayam for street children in Kolkata - is Rag Day. The highlights include a Sixth Form fancy dress parade and an anarchic show for the Year 11s.
Junior, Senior and Sixth Form choirs as well as staff, solo musicians and a team of drummers all entertained a hall full of parents and students at the end of term, and all under our brand new stage lighting.
Every March, we open the Sixth Form to Year 11 for a day of taster lessons, to help motivate their studies and guide their subject choices for September.
In honour of the sizeable Irish contingent of staff and students at Salesian, we put on an a Gala of Green for St Patrick's Day. The weather was kind and the entertainment lively!
Enterprise Day gives Year 9 students the opportunity to take part in a series of business-related activities that reflect the real workplace experience. They work in teams on real business challenges to test and improve their communication and problem-solving skills and their ability to innovate.
The months of dry slope training finally yielded results, as Year 10 - and some of their teachers - took to the slopes in Saalbach, Austria, during February half term 2014.
Our annual visit to the Salesian centres in Kolkata took place in February. We took out 40 gifts for sponsored children as well as 610 tee-shirts donated by kind supporters.
